The import of live animals, animal by-products, germoplasm and feed is subject to veterinary border controls. These controls are carried out at ports or airports which must be approved as Border Control Posts or Points of Entry depending on the nature of the goods. Traces NT Import Module
TRACES NT is an online management tool that notifies, certifies and controls trade in animals, products of animal origin, feed and food of non-animal origin, plants, seeds, propagating material, products of organic origin and wood. It allows operators to submit electronically all the necessary documentation required during the paraduan health checks carried out on the introduction of animals or goods into the national territory and the Union from third countries. The system also enables the competent authorities at border control posts to share and exchange all relevant data, information and documents with the customs authorities and other authorities responsible for carrying out controls.

Import health requirements vary depending on the nature of the goods. In the following sections you can consult these requirements depending on the type of goods you wish to import:
LIVE ANIMALS
To know more about the health requirements for the import of live commercial animals whose import requirements are harmonized at EU level (e.g. sheep, cattle, goats, pigs, horses, poultry, fish, dogs, cats and ferrets, bees and bumblebees), please consult the following link:

Generally speaking, the import requirements for live animals and products of animal origin, germoplasm and animal by-products are harmonized at EU level and therefore laid down in Community Decisions and Regulations.
However, there are certain live animals and animal products for which there are no rules at EU level and which must therefore be accompanied for import into Spain by national model import certificates.
